1. Purpose and scope
These Standards apply to everything on Twelve — videos, listings, Series, Subscriptions, community posts, comments, direct messages and reviews — and to every user. They implement and expand Annex A of the Terms of Service; in the event of conflict, Annex A prevails. Twelve is an adults-only (18+) platform for health, nutrition, fitness and wellness. That focus is exactly why these Standards are strict: content that would be merely questionable elsewhere can cause real harm here.
2. How classification works
Every piece of content and every listing falls into one of four classes. Classification is performed by automated policy screening at upload or listing, assisted by human review; flagged items may be held before publication, and any measure carries a statement of reasons and a right of appeal (Terms of Service, Section 16).
Prohibited — removed; enforcement ladder applies, and zero-tolerance items lead directly to termination.
Restricted — permitted with additional friction: required disclaimers, automated pre-publication screening, and possible human review.
Feed-Ineligible — not recommended in feeds, but remains searchable; repeated posting can make the whole account temporarily ineligible for recommendation.
Allowed with conditions — permitted, subject to the disclosure and honesty requirements below.
3. Disordered eating and body image
We remove content that shows, describes, promotes, glorifies or instructs disordered eating or dangerous weight-loss behaviour — and, because Twelve is a marketplace, we equally remove any listing, Series or Subscription that offers, sells or requests coaching for such behaviour. This covers extreme low-calorie protocols, starvation, bingeing and purging, “body-checking” and body-comparison trends, exercising through serious injury or illness, and the misuse of medication or supplements for weight loss or muscle gain.
Allowed: a recovery story that does not depict methods, numbers or “tips”; balanced nutrition education; content condemning disordered eating.
Not allowed: “how I ate 800 kcal a day” content; a Service offering to coach a User to an extreme deficit; body-checking trends; “what I eat in a day” framed to promote restriction.
4. Weight management (Restricted)
Weight-management programmes and services — caloric targets, deficits, cutting or bulking protocols — are permitted for this adult audience only when framed around health rather than appearance ideals, and only with an accurate disclosure of the Creator’s qualifications (or their absence) and a “not medical advice — consult a physician” notice. They pass automated screening before listing. Guaranteed or time-bound outcomes, crash diets and “detox” framing are prohibited.
Allowed: “a 12-week strength-first recomposition programme; results vary; not medical advice”.
Not allowed: “lose 10 kg in 30 days, guaranteed”; a detox or fat-burner protocol; numeric prescriptions pushed on a User who has disclosed an eating-disorder history.
5. Dangerous activities and challenges
Content likely to lead imitators to significant injury is removed: dangerous fitness challenges, unqualified stunt tutorials, training through acute injury, and dares involving equipment misuse.
Allowed: advanced lifts demonstrated with progression, safety context and realistic prerequisites.
Not allowed: “try this max-out challenge with no warm-up”; playing through a suspected fracture as content.
6. Substances, supplements and performance enhancers
We prohibit the promotion, sale, sourcing or dosing instruction of anabolic steroids, SARMs, peptides, hormones, prescription-only medicines and unapproved substances. Supplement content must stay within the law and these Standards: no claims to diagnose, cure, treat or prevent disease; no weight-loss product marketing built on guaranteed or time-bound results, before-and-after imagery tied to a product, personal stories crediting a product, “detox” or “fat-burner” mechanisms, or comparisons to GLP-1 medication. Lawful supplement partnerships are permitted only with the paid-partnership disclosure (Section 17) and within these limits.
Allowed: an evidence-based explainer on creatine, including limitations and who should not take it.
Not allowed: “this peptide stack transformed my physique — DM for source”; “nature’s Ozempic” product promotion.
7. Medical claims and health misinformation
No content or listing may claim to diagnose, cure, treat, mitigate or prevent any disease; discourage anyone from seeking medical care or following prescribed treatment; promise guaranteed health outcomes; or misrepresent research. Personal experience must be framed as personal experience, not generalised medical advice.
Allowed: “studies suggest resistance training supports bone density — here’s what the evidence actually says”.
Not allowed: “this protocol reverses diabetes”; “stop taking your medication and follow my plan”.
8. Transformation and before/after content (Feed-Ineligible)
Before-and-after body imagery is not recommended in feeds even when genuine, because of its documented effect on body image; it remains searchable on the Creator’s profile. It becomes Prohibited when tied to a product, a guarantee or a timeline, or when fabricated or misleadingly edited — and undisclosed AI-generated “results” are treated as fabricated (Section 16).
9. Cosmetic procedures (Restricted)
Content about cosmetic procedures must include the risks and recovery realities, must not present procedures as casual or consequence-free, and must not include solicitation on behalf of unlicensed providers.
10. Fasting (Restricted)
Structured fasting protocols are Restricted: adult framing, health-first presentation, qualifications disclosure and the medical-advice notice are required, and extended-fast coaching aimed at weight loss is prohibited. Religious and cultural fasting discussed in its own context is fully allowed.
11. Sexual content and minor safety
Any sexual content involving minors results in immediate termination and referral to the authorities — zero tolerance, no exceptions, including generated or stylised depictions. Twelve is additionally not a platform for sexual content of any kind: sexually explicit material and sexual solicitation are prohibited. Ordinary fitness attire, anatomy education and body-neutral content are of course fine.
12. Harassment, hate and abusive behaviour
We remove harassment, threats, hate speech, discriminatory abuse, and coordinated pile-ons. Criticism of ideas, methods and public claims is allowed; degrading people is not — this includes body-shaming in comments and reviews.
13. Privacy and doxxing
Publishing another person’s private information — address, phone number, private communications, health information — without consent is prohibited, as is sharing Order-thread content publicly to shame a counterparty.
14. Platform integrity
Fake engagement, bought or bartered reviews, review extortion (in either direction), impersonation, bulk spam, and manipulation of levels, leaderboards, referrals or rankings are prohibited, as is circumventing moderation, age controls or enforcement with new accounts.
15. Fraud and deceptive commerce
Misrepresenting identity, qualifications, affiliations or results; fabricated testimonials; unrealistic income or outcome claims; phishing; and listing services you cannot lawfully or practically deliver are prohibited and typically lead directly to loss of selling rights.
16. AI-generated content
AI-generated or AI-edited content that realistically depicts people, bodies, results or events must be clearly labelled as AI-generated. It is prohibited to present AI output as a real client result or transformation, as a professional clinical assessment, or to depict a real person without their consent.
17. Commercial content and disclosures
Twelve provides an in-product control for declaring advertising, sponsorship and product placement, as required of video-sharing platforms by the Romanian Audiovisual Law. Creators must use it whenever content is commercial (“Paid partnership” / “Ad”), must disclose affiliate relationships, and remain responsible for advertising law in their target markets. Supplement and weight-management product promotion is additionally limited by Sections 4 and 6.
18. Listings: Services, Series and Subscriptions
Listings must describe scope, deliverables, timelines and revision allowances accurately. The following may not be offered by anyone, regardless of qualifications: medical acts, diagnosis, treatment or management of disease, prescription or recommendation of prescription-only medicines, psychotherapy or clinical psychological services, and remote clinical care. Every programme, plan or protocol sold on Twelve must carry the qualifications disclosure and the “not medical advice” notice, and must represent results honestly — typical, not exceptional.
19. Reporting, enforcement and appeals
Report content in-app or at help@twelve-app.com. Enforcement follows the ladder in the Terms of Service, Section 16: warning → removal → feed ineligibility → monetisation or selling suspension → temporary suspension → termination — with zero-tolerance breaches (minor sexual safety, credible threats, sale of dangerous substances, severe fraud) skipping the ladder. Every measure carries a statement of reasons, an appeal reviewed by a person not involved in the original decision, and, where applicable, access to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body.
