This page explains how to permanently delete your Twelve account and the personal data associated with it. Account deletion is available to all users of the Twelve mobile application (published on Google Play and the App Store), whether you joined as a Creator or as a Learner.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to your profile, content, communities, skill progress, and purchase history.
1. Delete Your Account in the App
The fastest way to delete your account is directly inside the Twelve app:
- Open the Twelve app and sign in.
- Go to your Profile tab.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Your account is scheduled for deletion immediately after confirmation.
2. Request Deletion by Email
If you no longer have access to the app or your device, you can request deletion by email:
- Send an email to support@twelve-app.com from the email address registered to your Twelve account.
- Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- Include the username or phone number associated with your account so we can locate it.
We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request. We process email deletion requests within 30 days.
3. What Data Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed or anonymised within 30 days:
- Your profile (name, photo, biography, contact details).
- Content you uploaded — videos, images, community posts, and comments.
- Your direct messages and conversation history.
- Your skill levels, quiz history, and learning progress.
- Your interest selections and personalisation data.
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers.
4. What Data May Be Retained
Some data may be retained after deletion, only where we have a legal or legitimate reason to keep it:
- Transaction and payout records: retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
- Reviews you left for Creators or services: may be anonymised rather than deleted, to preserve the integrity of Creator ratings.
- Fraud-prevention and security logs: retained where necessary to protect the platform and comply with legal obligations.
For Creators: any outstanding payouts will be processed in the next scheduled payout cycle before account closure.
